MBameMichelle Moir
Caring Canine Massage and Acupressure
Minneapolis, MN
Phone: 612-710-3500
Website: www.caringcaninemassage.com
Graduated From: Supreme Motion, Canine Massage Certification Program, in 2006, and Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2013.

In the early 2000’s, Michelle’s interest in canine bodywork came easily when one of her dogs starting refusing jumps and was less excited about running . She was referred to a canine sports massage therapist. With massage therapy, her dog’s muscle injury was discovered. Over the next several months, massage was provided on a regular basis for her dog and Michelle learned how to be more proactive with massage, warm ups, cooling down and conditioning so that she may avoid similar injuries in the future. Impressed and convinced of the power of regular bodywork, Michelle went on to pursue her certification in canine sports massage.

Canine Sports Massage certification was 300 hours of intense class room training with the majority of time spent working “hands on” with dogs. The curriculum included anatomy, physiology, nutrition, gait analysis, conformation evaluation, massage techniques, biomechanics of performance dogs and post injury healing. Michelle regularly attends continuing education events to keep up to date with new massage techniques, conditioning studies, canine health and behavior information and training techniques; adding to her ability to assist in personal care for your canines everyday life. Michelle is also a 2013 graduate of the Tall Grass Institute of Colorado as a Small Animal Acupressure Practitioner, completing a 330 learning unit program. By 2014 she was Minnesota’s first nationally certified practitioner in both canine massage and acupressure!

Michelle’s Minnesota based business, Caring Canine Massage & Acupressure, has grown since its start in March 2006. Currently, her clients include canine athletes, post-surgical dogs, arthritic dogs and a few couch potatoes. Many of her weekends are spent at canine sporting events providing pre and post massage to canine athletes. Weekdays she divides her time between four locations, her home office in the west metro, Agile Canines Training School in Minneapolis, Twin Cities Animal Rehabilitation in Burnsville and the Animal Emergency and Referral Clinic in Oakdale, offering initial consultations and full body massages.

Michelle’s approach to bodywork is one of more natural principles; looking at the dog as a whole. Her goal is not only to provide all the benefits of massage, but to teach you, the owner, how to be proactive with your dogs health care.

Diane is a Certified Equine and Canine Acupressure Practitioner, having attended the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute. She is also certified through the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure & Massage (NBCAAM). As the daughter of a veterinarian, Diane has loved animals of all kinds since the day she was born. She has devoted her life to supporting animal welfare through participation in local rescue efforts and establishing a pet sitting business. She owns, rides, and cares for her own horse and assists others in training horses through natural horsemanship methods. Web Site: www.smartacupressure.com
Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 for Equine Acupressure and 2015 for Canine Acupressure.

The first certified Canine and Equine Acupressure practitioner in Vermont, Willow has been involved in holistic healing for animals for over 25 years. Born into the 10th generation of a cattle ranching family, she was surrounded by many species of animals all her life, and her fascination continues to this day into their personality and emotions. Her background includes training/showing dogs in conformation, obedience and agility, being a certified organic farmer since 1992, a homeopathic veterinary degree, career in nutraceuticals (providing nutritional education to the medical/veterinary industry), studies in medical aromatherapy, and Owner/producer of EquiScents Essential Oil for animals (www.equiscents.us)..

Willow believes in the integration of eastern and western philosophy for healthful balance. As an acupuncture patient herself for over 20 years, she experienced first hand the power Eastern Medicine had in healing her own illness and injuries. This later led to a journey into the study of animal acupressure through Tallgrass Institute. She uses a ‘wholistic’ approach towards lasting health; considering each individual as a whole, she will structure a wellness program best suited for the client and welcomes working with your vet, if desired.

By combining Acupressure, Tui na massage, Reiki, TTouch, energy work and cold laser, she assists the animal in achieving balance from within. She has witnessed the power of these techniques with clients including competition/show dogs, shelter animals, seniors, arthritic, post-surgical, injured and even neurological. Her services are available at your home, office, or her own facility. With over 20 years experience in the canine nutrition field, she can offer consultation and education in traditional diets, special needs, raw, homemade and Chinese food therapeutics. She also welcomes the opportunity to give seminars at local clubs and rescues. She lives with her husband, dogs, horses, cows, sheep and wildlife on their working organic farm in Northern Vermont.

Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2016

Sara May is a graduate of the Chicago School of Canine Massage and has been certified in Canine Massage Therapy since 2011. In 2012, she achieved national certification in canine massage through the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM). At the same time, she became an instructor in the 200-hour and 300-hour career training programs at the Chicago School of Canine Massage. She continues to learn and seek educational opportunities to expand her knowledge and experience. Most recently, she earned her national certification in Canine Acupressure.

Sara enjoyed a thriving canine massage therapy practice in Illinois, and since moving to Leesburg, Virginia, in 2014, her practice, which now includes acupressure, has been growing by leaps and bounds. Sara is experienced in a wide variety of massage therapy techniques and touch techniques, including relaxation and wellness massage, trigger point and myofascial techniques, palliative care and massage for geriatric dogs, pre- and post-surgical massage, and sports massage for the canine athlete. She also works with touch-sensitive dogs to help them learn that gentle touch is ok and can feel good. Acupressure is an important addition to Sara’s work as it allows her to connect with her canine clients on new levels.

As a former college English instructor, Sara is a strong advocate for education. One of the favorite parts of her work is teaching massage and acupressure to pet parents and prospective therapists. Through education, she believes that the value and importance of canine massage and acupressure can be understood, shared, and appreciated by an ever-increasing audience.

Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 for canine/feline acupressure and 2015 for equine acupressure with certifications in food therapy and equine essential oils.

Mariann Carrasco began Blue Island Animal Acupressure after receiving her certification in Dog, Cat and Equine Acupressure from Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and from NBCAAM in 2015. Mariann has had a long history with horses, dogs and cats since childhood, and has had multiple individuals of each species her entire life. She owned and operated a Morgan Horse breeding establishment for 35 years before retiring from breeding and has been breeding Australian Shepherd dogs for over 30 years. After several years of Tai Chi and Qigong, she decided to pursue improving animals’ health with a holistic approach. After some animal energy healing classes, Mariann pursued her certification in Equine, Dog and Cat Acupressure, which resonated well with her goals. Additional certifications in Animal Communication, Food therapy, and essential oils have followed to provide several different modalities in which to provide alternative health care for our cherished companions. Additionally a photonic torch and energy healing are offered on an as needed basis.

Mariann believes in assisting the whole animal rather than looking at individual systems and feels that using all these different modalities will offer a person a different way to help their four-legged companion. Mariann offers her services to all of Whatcom, Skagit and San Juan counties in Washington. Additionally, these services are offered in your own home where your animal is most comfortable. Mariann has had animals and their companions attest to sometimes dramatic, but always beneficial, improvement in the animal’s health, both physically, mentally and spiritually. Mariann not only has dogs, cats and horses in her life, but also parrots and a peacock. She performs agility with her aussies and goes on many mountain trail rides with her Morgans. Mariann can also offer demonstrations or clinics for those interested and she will continue to add healing modalities to strengthen her alternatives for animals in their care. Mariann believes that national certification (NBCAAM) as well as the one offered by Tallgrass further defines her commitment to providing the best alternative care for animals.

She started Renewed Balance Northwest so she can use her knowledge and passion for animals and their well-being to help the lives of animals in need of physical, emotional, and energetic balancing, as she experienced first-hand the benefits and results on her own dog.
