Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2009

Susan’s experience with Traditional Chinese Medicine began some 20 years ago, experiencing the benefits of acupuncture first hand. She soon realized the health enhancing effect of TCM for her horses and dogs as well.

With the encouragement and direction of Susan’s equine acupuncture vet, she worked on acupoints between visits. The first time Susan laid her hand on the point known as Bai Hui, or “Heaven’s Gate” she realized the power of equine acupressure. Her horse dropped his head and fought to keep his eyes open, fully experiencing the profound effects of acupressure. His health and well-being were enhanced dramatically.

This experience encouraged Susan to begin the journey towards seeking an education in Traditional Chinese Medicine and the achievement of becoming a Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in Larkspur, Colorado. She has since become a Nationally Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner through NBCAAM. Susan’s love and involvement with horses has spanned her lifetime and now, she supports their health and well-being with acupressure.

Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014.

Kimberly has loved and cared for animals her whole life. Even as a child, she would bring home stray animals, comfort them, and try to locate their owners. Her family always had companion animals, but it was her on her grandfather’s farm that she fell in love with horses. He bred Morgans, and she began spending time with them when she was five years old.

She earned an Accounting Degree from California State University, Fullerton and began working at a public accounting firm, but she soon realized that she longed to integrate her connection to animals with a holistic modality. It was then that she discovered Equine Acupressure. Kimberly attended Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute and graduated in 2014 as a Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner. Shortly after, she completed the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure and Massage (NBCAAM) in 2015 and opened her business, Helping Hand Therapies in Westminster, California. She is a member of and insured through Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP).

She strives to help horses achieve a balance of body, mind, and soul, and she enjoys sharing her knowledge to benefit others. She believes learning is a lifelong process and continues to take classes to further her education. She feels extremely thankful for all her teachers and the knowledge and experiences they have shared, and she wants her work to be a reflection of that gratitude.

Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014.

Linda began her work with the equine during her studies as a therapeutic riding instructor.  In 1999, Linda observed a horse receiving Reiki at a therapeutic riding conference she was attending in Maine, and from that moment on, Linda knew that she wanted to help horses to find and maintain balance using a holistic, non-invasive approach, and to encourage and teach the equine’s guardians a more hands-on approach with their equine’s health.

During her 10 years as a therapeutic riding instructor working with children and horses, Linda studied to become a Reiki Master and Teacher and created her own Reiki business, Circle of Peace, in 2007. She later retired from the therapeutic riding industry to commit fully to the well-being of the equine.

When Linda discovered equine acupressure a few years later, and learned that it was another holistic, non-invasive method of healing for the mind, body, and spirit and that it would complement her Reiki practice, she went on to pursue certification as an Equine Acupressure Practitioner at Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute, which she accomplished.  Linda is also certified through the National Board of Certification for Animal Acupressure & Massage (NBCAAM).

Linda offers Equine Acupressure and Reiki for Animals services out of Circle of Peace in Bolton, MA.  Linda will continue her studies in Traditional Chinese Medicine and other holistic practices.

Linda and her equine partner and spirit horse, Ka.Wa, have fun together doing groundwork, trail rides, dressage, and simply being together.

Lynn’s love for all things equine stretches back to days on her grandparents’ farm, spending time with the mules her grandfather kept. Since then, she’s gone on to own, ride, and care for several horses of her own. Several years ago, she sought the help of Marie Soderberg, then with the Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute, for her Quarter Horse/Arab cross, Buck. He had been plagued with years of respiratory illness, and sentenced to a life supported with drugs. Acupressure changed that sentence, and it changed Lynn. In 2010, Lynn became a Certified Equine Acupressure Practitioner through the Tallgrass Institute, as well as through NBCAAM.

In addition to acupressure, Lynn has also studied Reiki and Aromatherapy/Essential Oils for animals. She holds a Ph.D. in Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi, and has made a successful career in sleep studies and fatigue management, through research, writing, and teaching. Lynn has joined forces with another co-Tallgrass Institute graduate to provide horses in their area with the best possible acupressure care through their business, Miami Valley Equine Acupressure.

She donates her services weekly to the horses at a therapeutic riding center. Since the horses tend to be older and may have health issues, it is very rewarding to help them which in turns helps the riders fully realize the benefits of the center. Gail plans to continue her education and further her knowledge in massage therapy as well as other holistic practices for the whole health of the horse. She owns and rides her own horse, Snowy.

Henrietta has always been filled with a sense of wonder about the world, and a soul-deep love for animals. She grew up with horses, dogs and cats, and she wanted to be able to "talk to the animals" like Dr. Doolittle. In the words of one client, "She has the innate ability to meet the horse on their terms with a sensitivity rarely found in humans... She brings much more than healing but a kinship with the horse that is remarkable."

Her background includes a Ph.D. in geophysics and twenty-six years of teaching physical sciences. Studying equine acupressure and learning about the principles of TCM have given Henrietta a way to understand and work with the energetic connection to animals that she has always felt. She earned her Equine Acupressure certification through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014, becoming nationally certified through NBCAAM shortly thereafter. She is currently working toward additional certification in small-animal acupressure.

In honor of her beloved rescued Percheron, Gabriel, Henrietta offers "Gabriel's Touch", donating her services at little or no charge to rescues and therapeutic riding centers.

Henrietta and her husband, Gary, share a beautiful farm outside Portland with their four horses, two dogs, four cats and twelve chickens.

In July 2014 she got the inspiration to look up acupressure for horses to see if such a thing existed. Turns out such a thing did exist and she was certified as an Equine Acupressure Practitioner with Tallgrass Animal Acupressure in June 2015 and Nationally Certified with NBCAAM. She then went on to study with Northwest School of Animal Massage and was certified as an Equine Massage Practitioner in March 2016 and Nationally Certified with NBCAAM. Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 for Equine Acupressure and 2015 for Canine Acupressure.

Coming from 10 generations of cattle ranching and working horses, she has had a lifelong passion for the horse as a sentient being, and has always wanted to give something back. She has been intrigued since she was a child in holistic healing for both human and animal. Her background includes being a certified organic farmer for over 22 years, a homeopathic veterinary degree, consulting in equine nutrition (specifically rehab), a prior career in nutraceuticals for the medical/veterinary industry, studies in medical aromatherapy, and owner/producer of Equiscents, an essential oil blend for equines.

Willow believes in the integration of eastern and western philosophy for healthful balance. As an acupuncture patient for 20 years, she saw how powerful acupressure could be as well in healing her own injury. This later became a journey into the study of acupressure for horses based on Traditional Chinese Medicine through Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute. Using all the tools in the toolbox, she uses a wholistic approach towards lasting health. She believes that involving the veterinarian combined with energy work, and acupressure, makes for a well-rounded program for the horse’s total being; mind and body. She lives with her husband, dogs, horses, cattle and sheep on their working dairy farm in Vermont.

Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 for canine/feline acupressure and 2015 for equine acupressure with certifications in food therapy and equine essential oils.

Mariann Carrasco began Blue Island Animal Acupressure after receiving her certification in Dog, Cat and Equine Acupressure from Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2014 and 2015, respectively, and from NBCAAM in 2015. Mariann has had a long history with horses, dogs and cats since childhood, and has had multiple individuals of each species her entire life. She owned and operated a Morgan Horse breeding establishment for 35 years before retiring from breeding and has been breeding Australian Shepherd dogs for over 30 years. After several years of Tai Chi and Qigong, she decided to pursue improving animals’ health with a holistic approach. After some animal energy healing classes, Mariann pursued her certification in Equine, Dog and Cat Acupressure, which resonated well with her goals. Additional certifications in Animal Communication, Food therapy, and essential oils have followed to provide several different modalities in which to provide alternative health care for our cherished companions. Additionally a photonic torch and energy healing are offered on an as needed basis.

Mariann believes in assisting the whole animal rather than looking at individual systems and feels that using all these different modalities will offer a person a different way to help their four-legged companion. Mariann offers her services to all of Whatcom, Skagit and San Juan counties in Washington. Additionally, these services are offered in your own home where your animal is most comfortable. Mariann has had animals and their companions attest to sometimes dramatic, but always beneficial, improvement in the animal’s health, both physically, mentally and spiritually. Mariann not only has dogs, cats and horses in her life, but also parrots and a peacock. She performs agility with her aussies and goes on many mountain trail rides with her Morgans. Mariann can also offer demonstrations or clinics for those interested and she will continue to add healing modalities to strengthen her alternatives for animals in their care. Mariann believes that national certification (NBCAAM) as well as the one offered by Tallgrass further defines her commitment to providing the best alternative care for animals.

Graduated from: Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in 2013.

Carolyn’s love for horses started at a young age. In 1978, she started working at a horse barn cleaning stalls in exchange for riding lessons and has been around horses ever since. Her current horse, Simon, has been with her since 1994. She has taken and observed many riding lessons and can spot when a horse is not moving correctly. In order to help these magnificent animals to move better and be more in balance, Carolyn became certified as an Equine Acupressure Practitioner from Tallgrass Animal Acupressure Institute in August 2013. She passed the NBCAAM Equine Acupressure exam in February 2016.

Carolyn can also offer Reiki to animals and people as well as massage for dogs as a PetMassage™ Practitioner. Her Reiki attunements were taken through Animal Hearts Wellness Center in Appleton WI and the International House of Reiki, headquartered in Australia. These attunements are based on the traditional teachings of Mikao Usui and on Animal Reiki Source developed by Kathleen Prasad. Carolyn completed her attunements in August 2011, March 2012, and June 2014. PetMassage™ is a form of canine massage developed by Jonathan Rudinger in Toledo OH. It merges gentle massage methods with Traditional Chinese Medicine and energy practices, providing balance in the canine’s body, mind, and spirit. Carolyn completed the Provider level in August 2010 and the Practitioner level in November 2010.

Carolyn practices in Northeast Wisconsin and will travel to your location to work with you or your animals. She is a member of and insured through Associated Bodywork and Massage Professionals (ABMP). Please visit her website for more information.
